The Problem

Over 600 million Africans lack access to electricity, 80 million of these are Nigerians. This forces families and local street food vendors to spend a huge part of their income continuously on fuel in kerosene lamps for lighting.

Mobile phone use is on the rise too and possessing one entails locating electricity to recharge which is even more expense and difficult.

Our Solution

Ina Lite is an affordable, portable, light-weight, thermoelectric generator which when harnesses heat energy to generates electricity which is accessible from a USB power port.

How it works:

  1. The User places the copper conductor in the heat source
  2. Heat is then converted to electricity through the thermoelectric generator
  3. The energy generated is channeled to a USB port for charging mobile phones and LED lights.

Our Team

We are a team of designers, engineers and social entrepreneurs who are passionate about creating impact though innovation and technology.

Ina Lite supports the UN sustainability goal of Affordable and clean Energy.

It produces electricity in a clean and very affordable way using thermoelectric cells.

It reduces the waste of energy lost to heat from domestic activities while being an alternative to kerosene lamps. This in turn reduces the carbon foot print of people dependent on it for lighting.
